Microsoft has announced a CRITICAL security problem in its Windows software, the company's HIGHEST alert level.
This security hole, one of the most serious vulnerabilities ever released, can allow hackers to quietly break into users' computers to steal files, delete data or eavesdrop on sensitive information.
Affected are users of Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP software, or Windows NT Server, Server 2000 and Server 2003 commonly used by businesses.
For an article on this event, see the MSNBC.com article currently at:

The only way to safeguard your computer is to install a patch at the Microsoft site: http://www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
If that address does not work (the Microsoft.com servers are currently overwhelmed with download requests), try http://www.microsoft.com/security
Keep trying over the next few days until you get through.
We strongly advise that you or a computer savvy friend download and apply this security patch to your computer system.
If you are as sick of shoddily-programmed software and the never-ending stream of alerts as we are, let Microsoft know your feelings.
And vote with your pocketbook.
Yours,
