Well what the hell I might as well put my 2 cents in also as long as the material you use to tie a fly is not preformed like a rubber worm, cricket etc then I figure its ok to use, hell when I first started tying we sure didn't have all the artificial materials we have today but most guys accepted them and are now using them so why not balsa if you take the time to shape it paint it or color it and tie it on with other material I
say go for it . Just my 2 cents Ed
