Hi Wes, my wife is Japanese Wes, and as you may or may not know, she is also 
the captain of the Japanese National Fly Fishing Team. I've asked her to 
check this out for you and see what she can find out. Hopefully she may have 
some info for you by Sowbug time. Are you going to be there? We get in on 
March 6th, a Sat. We're staying at the Ramada. My wife goes (well the last 
two years) to the big fly fishing show in Yokahama, in Nov. and i think she 
is going again this year. Maybe she can somehow hook you up. mark.......

Besides being one of my favorite tying materials for minnow patterns, I am 
making some interesting discoveries about the material that I will share 
with the list post-Sowbug time.  First, I need to take some photos for 
illustrative purposes.

Dan Bailey has been the exclusive U.S. importer of this product.  All the 
U.S. flyshops get their supply through Bailey's.

However, for whatever reason, Dan Bailey is now marketing its own brand 
label of body fur, and this is what you get when Bailey runs out of a 
color manufactured by Caps.  I know because I have just returned four 
packages of the Bailey product.

Among other lacks, the Bailey product has shorter fibers, is coarser, 
duller, less white, and not as sparkly as Caps SAAP Body Fur.  All of that 
makes it a much less desirable product...crap, frankly.

So please, let me know if you have a Japanese acquaintance who would like 
another U.S. pen pal.  (Sorry, I don't speak Japanese!)

Also, please let me know the specifics if you yourself know where there is 
some white Caps SAAP Body Fur in stock. Have some cool stuff to trade too 
if you are interested.
