I didn't include a recipe for the Hair Wing version of the Evening Star I tied on the "toe tags" either. Here is the recipe as follows:
Hook Tiemco #7999 2/0 Thread: Black Tag: Fine Gold Tinsel/Red Floss Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest veiled with Imitation Indian Crow (subsituted for red parakeet) Butt: Black Ostrich Herl Body: Fine Silver Tinsel, segmented with Ostrich Herl Throat: paired Jungle Cock "nail" feathers Primary Wing: White Tailed Deer belly hair with black lines drawn on to imitate Lady Amherst Pheasant Tippets Secondary wing: same as abave, only smaller This is just a variation on materials, no topping used or cheeks included due to the thickness of deer hair (makes tying in cheeks difficult/pointless). This was a chance for me to flex the creative muscles and try to imitate the traditional within the confines of the rules of the swap.
