Steve and all

I do a similar thing with skill knife blades on a more narrow spacing to turn potato chip bags into flash.  Single edge razor blades also work.

It almost makes eating junk food a righteous thing to do!!!

I tail my bass poppers with the junk food bag flash.  The bass are drawn to the bags just like.... well, ................me in the convenience stores.

You can make a multi strip cutter from 4 replacable craft knife blades with a scrap of plastic between each blade. The thicker the spacer the wider the strip of fur

Blade - Plastic spacer - Blade - Plastic spacer - etc.

Stick it all together with superglue or epoxy.  As long as the blades are sharp you wont need a handle, just wrap the blunt end with insulating tape.

I just learned a Huge lesson.  I had a nice peace of rabbit fur. I laid it on a cutting board and with a razor I made 12 passes for the 12 flys I need to try. Now I turn it over, I had just made a big mistake. It cut all the beautiful fur off with each pass of the razor. My oldest came to my rescue, This time we held it the air and just let the razor pass through the hide. Much better.
