Jim, is there any problem with using nylon yarn? I picked up 10 yards of hot pink for 39 cents today at Hobby Lobby. It's called Plastic Canvas Yarn made by Needloft. Floats like a cork and you can tease it out with a tiny comb or the hook part of velcro. Haven't tried tying with it yet. -Jeff
