I too will "shave" the hook if it's in good shape. Then I would use it to tie any fly, maybe not the one that was originally on it. I've repaired "leadheads" (Bucktails) for friends of mine for fluke and bass fishing. (saltwater) I even make them the heads. I have about 7-8 different molds for large and small bucktails, so once in a while I get an "order" to make a few. That along with fly tying pretty much takes up all the "spare time" I have. So much for having a good "hobby". hahahahaha
