Tony,
The book covers tools and materials, basic techniques and instructions for
seven flies. The flies included are Woolly Bugger, Gold-Ribbed Hairs Ear,
Beadhead Pheasant Tail Nymph, Elk Hair Caddis, Compara Dun and Sparkle Dun,
Adams and Marabou Muddler. Because of the small number of flies the book can
go into more detail than some other beginner books. Examples include
flattening your thread before dubbing and showing finger placement during
tying steps. Drawings give further detail to the photographs. The idea is
that the flies presented will introduce you to techniques that will give you
a solid fly tying foundation. I have read that even experienced tiers learn
from watching Marvin Nolte tie these flies on the DVD. I haven't received my
copy yet. Even though I have been tying for several years I am looking
forward to watching it. Bill
