I just saw the "Concert for George" (Harrison) on PBS and for many like me on the sunny side of 50 it was quite emotional to think of the water that has passed under the bridge. We had great times, scored by the music of our youth, but of course they are gone forever (except for memories). That is how life is, it sweeps us along and we can't believe WE will be the ones getting old until is sneaks up on us and it is a done deal.

So I watched the rock and roll stars of my youth gathered together and took some comfort in seeing that we have all been swept along by the same river. Still, I wouldn't want to go back and do it again, I haven't forgotten how much hard work it was!

Sorry for the off topic meanderings but I have felt the nexus of my upcoming birthday (56) tomorrow, a rougher day than usual in my classroom dealing with clueless, knot head adolescents and a daughter who moved out today (on happy terms, she is twenty four and feels like it is time). I guess I just needed someone to talk too.

Life goes on...
