need to be divided into say up to 3 parts. I assume you mean horizontally.
I am not a dry fly expert feather smith like the Whiting team. But I am fair and do know how
to cut materials carefully. Seems like it would be easiest if one person
did all the sorting but I leave it up to the groups' wisemen.

Thanks for the plucking offers, but I don't think plucking the winger necks is the answer. The best organization for neck wing-hackles is to keep the feathers on the hide, therefore like-sized feathers are adjacent/opposite to each other for easy size-matching.
MY idea:
If someone has the time to manage a 'Winger-Swap', they could enlist as many as needed for assistance. But it shouldn't be too hard. If each of the 33 puckers (Byard has the list) would respond to this individual and let him know the color and size range of feathers they desire, this person could see if the capes could be razor-cut from the back side to divide them up as desired. (Use a felt tip pen on the back with plucker numbers assigned) I will do a photo-shoot of all the necks as jpeg's (unless the meister can do it), and the swapmeister can email them to the 33 pluckers to choose. Some Winger necks are great for tiny midge sizes, and others have more in the mid-range. Then the larger feathers can be used by those who need fan-type feathers for bass-bugs and such. I can also post some jpegs of neat popper-patterns using the black-laced large feathers as tail feathers and the skirt-wrap. The swapmesiter may do it on a first-come first-choice basis, or else the portions could get really small if everyone wanted only midge-size, for example. Or he/she could wait and see how it all divides up and go from there. I will send the swapmeister all of the necks and he/she will take it from there.
For the swapmeister's work, you can keep all of the unclaimed remnants. UNLESS, you would like to extend the swap to others vfb'ers, offering them the remnants to try out (per requests again). If you go this way, and nothing (worthwhile) is left over, Dr. Tom and I will take good care of you. <G> ( Pro-teamers get great stuff! )
Any Coments?
