Don,       For those who tie flies and fish with bomber's make excellant flies for catching Bass and Panfish.     I personally think this would be an excellant swap pattern for those who like to spin deer hair. The bomber minnows are something newer.   The original bomber fly that I remember from the old pattern books was a cigar-shaped trimmed deerhair dry fly with a hackle palmered all the way through and buried into the deerhair. I remember a red hackle tail and a trimmed butt-section left in the vertical position up front, about an eighth of an inch long.  I think the colors were natural, yellow, and olive.
