VFB'ers,
Thanks for all of the well-wishes on/off vfb.  Just to let everyone know,
the surgery this coming Tuesday is elective and on a ruptured disc in my
lower back that happened 25 years ago.  Back then, the injury (while
snow-skiing) was a life-altering event, and it has been a cloud over
everything physical I've ever done.  Only people with similar problems can
understand what it's like to make every life decision, as far as physical
capabilities and limitations go, based on what the 'ol back can take.  The
threat of 'one wrong twist and it's sidelines and pain-pills for three
weeks- or longer' has overshadowed my life for decades.  So now I'm going to
take a risk and try to get it fixed.  Twenty years ago back surgery was akin
to butchery, as far as I was concerned, seeing many people crippled up and
incapacitated.  Recently I've encountered some business associates and
friends who have had and have sworn by this surgical procedure, and the
quick and total recoveries thay've made.

So, although the surgery is not a serious surgery, it does need to go well
if it's going to be successful.

Again, thanks everyone.  Your prayers and well-wishes are very appreciated.

Gimpy in Wyoming,
DonO
