Quoting Jimmy, "Seems to me that a bunch of you are ready to "kill" the
swapmeister. I remember other swaps where contact was lost with the
swapmeister, and all but one of these turned out to be a legitimate problem. All
you old timers know exactly who I'm talking about. He's no longer on the
list and hasn't been for several years. Three weeks? If you
remember, we lost track of Denis Goulding once during one of his swaps,
only to find out that he had been in the hospital. Stuff happens.
People have heart attacks, computer crashes, and serious illnesses and
other opportunities which preclude their getting on their computer on
occasion. I dare say if I was incapacitated while meistering a swap,
Jody would have a hard time chasing down my swap and all it's particulars,
especially if I was flat of my back.
Have a heart and be patient. My 2 cents worth. JIMMY You're much kinder than I am, as my experience was quite different. I did
join two swaps in which the swapmeister failed to give his address until the
last moment..sent my flies..to this day, have not received a fly in return. SO
you can understand why I am wary..once one breaks his word, I tend to be a bit
skeptical of the situation. Now, if both his hands are broken so he can't touch
a keyboard, and he is laid up in some hospital with a head wound in a deep coma,
then I can understand that is not rudeness but just a bad accident.
