Just an observation as I was watching this thread. Paypal.com could also be an alternative for
exchanging funds (if available in South Africa). However, next to Joyce's suggestion the idea
someone posted about having a single point of distribution Stateside makes the most logical
sense to me.

Hmm... the first International Fly Swap of Epic Proportions if ever I saw. And I thought it was
just just a nightmare doing the Looine to Sawbuck conversion in my Christmas swaps. But
what burned be good on those was when someone OVERVALUED their flies by about $250
and customs came calling. Seeeesh!

Subject: Re: [VFB] Postage to South Africa

Jimmy, thanks for your input, but, the problem is NOT getting the stuff to David,, the problem is to send with it the return postage which he says is 147.50 South African Rand and that comes to 23.75 US dollars. As previously stated, SAR is not a currency that one can get international money coupons for at my post office and to get them at the bank costs $10.00 for the process and exchange (plus the trip to the bank). That  international money order must be sent with the flies in order for him to use it to return them to us. How are you going to handle this.
