Funny they came up with such a small percentage.  My observations on most trout streams in PA and MD is that fly fishing is far and away the more popular route.  Even steelheading in Erie has seen fewer noodle rods and more fly rods by far.  According to the Washington Post some months ago, fly fishing is beginning to be more popular than golf.  I don't agree with them on that given the people I know but it does lend credence to the increasing popularity of fly fishing.  The exception might be lakes and impoundments where casting is usually easier with a spinning rod.  There I notice few fly fishers and many bait and lure fishers.

Just my penny and a half.
