Last week I wandered down to the marina to see the boats and get my youngest a cupcake at the bakery while we were running our errands.   I was amazed at how low the tide was.   Some of the boats were sitting on the bottom and the sea gulls were having a great time fishing for food.  This weekend I went back to pick up another kayak for my husband and it was the opposite.    We had a new moon and a full moon this last week around the same time and it causes extremes in the tides.   It was interesting to watch.   The low tide along with 80 degree weather causes the mud to heat up and that triggers the worm hatch.   Any day now the worms will be all over the coves and the fishing will be hot.   Only half the members showed up for our monthly UFT meeting but we all knew where they were.   They jumped the gun a little.   Mother's day is here and I think there are a few fishermen that are probably sweating it out.    It was such an interesting thing to see.   I've already tied my husband enough worm flies so I'm ready to let the fun begin.
