Well I took a break from this busy, busy life and went on my annual spring trip to the Crooked River in Central Or. We arrived Wed. night shortly after dark. We set up camp and got to sleep early. Got up Thur. morning and hit the water about 8:00, my first cast produced a nice 13" Redside, 4 casts later and another one. These were to be my only fish for Thur. in spite of a caddis blizzard "tan out". Friday started out slow and we were only getting a few fish here and there till about 5:00 pm (about 2 hours after Wes Wada left). We fished till late and managed several nice fish over 14".
Saturday started out with decent fishing and it just got better as the day went on. Managed to land over 20 fish with most being over 12". Sunday was the final day and we only got to fish until about 1:00 pm by which time I already had well over 20 fish. My brother had the biggest fish of the trip of about 18 or 19 inches, but this year I managed the most : ).
We got to watch a Great Blue Heron catch and eat his dinner one evening (about a 10" trout) and we didn't see a single rattle snake this year. All in all it was a very good trip.
