OK I am a wet fly amateur,
I tie my wings by using wing slips from feathers found in my yard. I use Blackbird, Indian Miner, Eastern Rosella (lovely blue green) wing feathers. Now beause I usually only have a left or a right and not a matching pair, I often use a folded wing slip. cut a wing slip twice as wide as the wing you require, fold and tie in...
Not as pretty as a matched paitr of slips.. but still quite natual looking..
