Ronan,
I believe 'Caenis' is the genus for all mayflies. Can you be more specific as to which mayflies you're looking for and the size range? Does he want traditional patterns, or parachutes and extended bodies? Synthetics, or all natural materials? Up-wing or spent? Emerger? Here's a couple of nice pages, to start you off: http://home.zonnet.nl/caranx_hippos/mayflies.htm http://business.virgin.net/fly.fishing/index.htm#top2 I have dozens filed, so let me know when you need more. I'm presently working on Winger Mayflies with roped (tapered and segmented) extended bodies, Cd'L tails, & parachute hackle. Coming out very nice. If you want to see a photo, let me know. DonO Howdy folks, Im using my recovery time to re-fill my ever diminishing stock of flies. My uncle, a dry fly only man, has asked me to tie up a few different Caenis patterns for us to use as soon as I am back to full health and mobility and so, I am putting out an A.P.B to the VFB in order to get a few. Can you help!? A specific pattern or site reference is perfect. Many thanks, Ronan. |
