We left Friday afternoon to drive to Hermisillo to visit. Got up Saturday morning and drove to San Carlos Mx. Beautiful place. Stayed at the old Club Med and got up early and walked out the back to the water. Nice and warm and so was the water. Caught three before the beach started getting too crowded. One was a needle fish another looked like and angel fish with yellow fins and gray strips down the sides, and the other one was silver and had little orange horizontal stripes (reminded me of dashes rather than lines or dotts.) The next day we drove to Kino. We found a nice little beach in a cove and caught 4 sea bass. It was very wind and casting my 8wt with a Wulff triangle taper was making my arm sore.
It was a nice weekend get a way. Only down side was that I lost my belly bag with my reel and tools and leaders as well as my two boxes of large bass and saltwater flies. Real bummer because some of the flies were from friends that are no longer with us and can't be replaced... All in all it was a very pleasant weekend and some nice people to visit and stay with.
