On the Westfly.com Oregon message board, there is a very talented photographer who goes by "Arlen" or "ART". Arlen works as a molecular biologist, but he is very much into entomology and flyfishing. Since you cannot view his posts directly without registering on the board, I have taken the time to provide links to his latest series on the Salmonfly (stonefly). This is Pteronarcys californica, which grow to almost 2.5" long in these parts.
Incredible photographic work, and if he ever published a book, I'd purchase it in a heartbeat. If there is interest, I can also post his photos on Golden Stones.
