My two cents worth
I fish with jigs on the fly rod a lot. I mostly use a 6 weight and the largest that is safe to cast is a 1/64 oz.
This spring Three of the fish over 9 lbs were taken on a 1/80 oz. jig. I caught the 7 lb brown on a 1/64 oz. jig.
Then last week when Henry's lake opened a friend landed four fish there, 4lb. 6lb and 8 lb. and a smaller one on the 1/80 oz. jig on a fly rod.
