Pete, This PP on Hans' site, by Tim Trexler (a vfb'er) is the closest I've seen to the original pattern. I also remember having them weighted for wet and unweighted for dry use. And if you think that's crazy, I know a lot of guys who fish muddlers dry and do very well.

I've seen like 2 or 3 variations that all seem to have turkey overwings and peacock-hurl-wrapped bodies and/ or [thorax/head] regions, with marabou tails. > Just curious, as I remember the "traditional" working well in Maine (Lake Messylansky or something sounding close to that) last july, but the one-and-only fly I had been given got clipped by a giant "rock monster" and I don't have a copy or ingredient list. > Thanks in advance, and tight lines, > Pete > > ________________________________________________________________ > The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! > Surf the Web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! > Only $14.95/ month - visit www.juno.com to sign up today! >
