Answering all three in one: "Friends": It's enough with one to break a total misery. If I focus on that one, the rest won't seem as bad. Besides, I actually think there are more than one out there.
"Independence": You're right. I wouldn't trade her for anything or anyone. She's the second best thing that has happened to me... with only VFB matching up. "Teetering": I couldn't be more focused. If I didn't want to fall into total dementoism... why would you think I have a (de)mentor to help me? This really isn't about 'falling' into it. It's more like 'looking for the deepest hole before jumping'... and THAT'S where Don comes into the picture.
