To all steelhead swappers and the list,
I too am in the swap and have looked back at the posts by Keith. You can look them up in the archives if you wish, but I have them on file, and will forward to any who ask off list. These are brief summary's:
3/1: Keith stated that his grandmother had passed away, and that he had come down with strep throat.
4/14: Keith stated that he had been ill, had received the flies, and would get them out ASAP! He was back for good.
5/28: Keith was not into details, but he was back.
6/23: Keith was heading out fishing - the first time since his accident. (what accident?) There were also several posts on this date inquiring about the Dahlberg Diver.
My question is: "If he can go fishing, why can't he send out the flies that he has admitted to receiving, and why can't he respond to e-mails regarding this subject?" I have sent them, with no response, and can verify that, as I still have them on file.
I'm sorry, but I have written this swap off as a loss. It was my first swap on the VFB, and probably my last. I have read the many posts of those that are in other swaps, and I am happy that they went well for you, but I have not had that experience. I have sent tying materials, equipment, (new, not used) and flies to listers, and have never even received an acknowledgment or a 'thank you' in return. I'm still wondering what happened to the flies for the "soldier in Iraq" Those on the list that I have met are wonderful people, and yes, we have to get together for a Sierra trip.
I apologise to all for my negative outlook on this, but I just had to vent.
Back under my rock, Chris R.
