Well, Theresa, Amanda and I just got back from a jaunt down to the river.
Kevin was right, the access to the actual river is a maze of "Trails"
through "Very" thick brush. For about 1/8 mile it was rubbing down both
sides of my little Datsun PU. At one time Theresa had a very nice "Floral"
arraignment in her hair, (and everywhere else), then she closed the window.
Just as Kevin predicted as soon as we were under the RR bridge there was an
opening to the river. Well, river might be a stretch, "Strong Creek" maybe.
It was about 6 to 8 feet wide, off color a bit from the rains last night,
but there was a clear bank probably 100 yards long down the side. Fish were
popping the surface for something, (probably Lace Wings), and there were a
lot of swirls. Not sure what kind of fish they were but we plan to find out
as soon as we are rigged up again. It was nice flowing water with lots of
brush well back from the waters edge, 3 miles exactly from the front porch
to the bridge by road, (2 miles as the crow flies). We could very easily put
the canoe in and go either way, (of course we would have to beach the canoe
to turn it around though).
All in all a nice evening adventure. Now to find the fish in it and what
they are.
