OK, Jimi...........ready? First it would be huge.....no, HUGE! I'd say at
least one and a half times the size of your LARGE roll top. It would have a
pull out drawer directly under the working space, as large as ther working
space, and i'd say four to five drawers on the outsides of where your legs
go, on both sides, below the working space. Getting the idea of size now? he
he he........Above the work space, it'd have PElenty of drawers also, along
the back of the space and all the way across. All kinds of sizes for
different "Stuff." And out on the very sides of the workspace (surface),
would be "pegs" for threads, tinsels, flosses, etc., etc., etc., etc.,
etc...........and somewhere (LOL) would be a tools space.......just a big
area for tools to go in "holes" of all different sizes, also. I have enough
tools for 10 tyers, and they are allllllllll shapes and sizes. And of course
that area would also server as the "head cement area." A place for say, at
least a half dozen different head cements to be "kept." I must have at least
a dozen different types, colors (laquers, caint spell), etc. Some are water
base, some aren't.............add infant item........lol. Everyone is
different, but i like BIG! Big trucks, big everything.............so, i
guess i'd be willing to pay up to 3K for it, but wouldn't really want to
unless if the woood was really something special. I'd like to get it for say
2K, and would be willing to go with just plain old pine wood, stained. It's
not the looks of thge thing that's important to me, it's the functionality.
I need a LOT of storage space. My tying room is running out of it......in
fact it IS out. But the area i have for a "desk" is a place where i "could"
get some better use out of it, IF, my desk where hipper, dig? If i were rich
($$), i'd want it to have Brook Trout carved all over it, and flies
too................LMAO. But hey, i can get my wife to paint those things on
there. She be bad. LOL. Well..........let's see the
drawings...............lol. mark............

Subject: [VFB] Custom tying tables/ benches ??
Date: Sat, 10 Jul 2004 16:59:25 -0600
OK Folks,
Day is kind of slow and I have been down in my back for awhile with my
mind wondering. Question for the group.
#1; If you could have the "Perfect" tying station, what would the
measurements be of the top?
#1A; Would it have legs so as to sit on the floor, or be flat bottom to set
on a table or in your lap in a chair?
#2; Would it have drawers underneath the top, (if so, how many)?
#3; What accessories/ tool holders would you want and where?
#4; If it was crafted as a fine cabinet, basically to special order, with
unique and complimenting wood, what would you consider a fair price you
would pay for one?
If I can get the necessary info from the myriad of tiers in the group, I am
willing to try to "Create" the most unique VFB tying station I can. But, I
can not do it without your input. Besides, it gives my mind something
constructive to do in the wee morning hours when I cant sleep. If you would
like to respond off list, please do so to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I need a
worthwhile challenge and this may be it.
Thanks and looking forward to your replies.
Jimi
