Ditto! Joyce. I have quite a few of Denny's JV hen backs/skins and they are
GREAT! Denny has some of the best hackle at any price. I mean what you get
for what you pay is the best deal in town. I also have lots of his necks,
and they are just wonderful. He's a super guy, and a very fair dealer. He
also has some nice exotics depending on his breeding schedual. Pheasent
skins and such. mark.......

I have one each of his JV's in white/cream and black that I got at the
Sowbug a year and a half ago. Great hackles to tie with. I was hoping on
making it this year so I could look over the pelts for some more in
different colors. He has a wide selection of colors and they are great. I
also like using them in woollies and wet hoppers and crickets.
No financial interest, just satisfied.

On my recipe for a Spring Black, I mentioned using starling hackle ( the
original recipe) or JV birds from Dennis Conrad. Well, I just got the
latest
black JV hackle and it is to die for..absolutely wonderful..winds like silk
and lays exactly as one would like. In questioning him I learned that in
his
genetic breeding he has worked to develop the special stem that makes it
work so well. So..forget that starling..use the JV hackle. Same appearance,
much easier to tie. Hope this helps. Joyce
