Pete,
I'm really glad to hear that your dad is doing A LOT better... I know first
hand what it's like to have serious back problems... I compression
fractured T-12 and compressed the disk at L-5 and had to have what's called
a "Kyphex Bone Tamp"... They make a surgical incision laterally of each of
the transverse process of the vertebra, insert a long needle with a balloon
that is then inflated which inflates the compressed vertebra. Once the
vertebra is inflated they then fill the voided area with a synthetic bone
filler... Fabulous procedure... Had it done on a Friday evening and
released from the hospital the following Sunday... I felt like I could go
out and play a few games of rachet-ball afterwards, course I was in rehab
for 4 weeks after, couldn't push or lift anything...

Anyway, I am really glad he's doing a lot better... Do me a favor and let
me know what procedure they're planning for the degrading/pulverized disk...

Tight lines...
Rodney...

but at least he isn't in pain (due in part to physical therapy and a back
brace thing). Sounds like he'll need surgery on his back (degrading/
pulverized disc and a fragment is wedged in the dorsal aspect of the L4
region, going through the grey to the white matter). But at least he's not
in pain, and also he can have it fixed! In the meantime, he's on Soc.

tie my EGD-Fuzzy Wing in size 12 and ... still deciding on the nymph... I
need to stop by the local pro-golf store to get adhesive lead tape. All
owed flies and dubbings are being made as soon as I shoot this e-mail off...
and they will all (hopefully) get sent out tomorrow (saturday) first thing.

warnings, not to mention half-moon phase and muddy waters besides. There's
always tomorrow... now to tie flies!
