I would say it's a medium stiffness, somewhere between super hair and crystal hair. It is important to break the fibers to create a 'shag' haircut, rather than long, flowing hairs. The tips shimmer and reflect sunlight, looking like scales. This is what makes it different than similar materials. I would start with pearl white with a med. blue and chartruese top-color. Many of the hairs and fiberous materials you already have can be used as accent colors, and it takes markers well. Just add new colors as you can afford it. You can also team it up with feathers. Add lead or barbell eyes if you want a deep-running fly, as the material is very light.
