Hi Dave,
I've been hearing from mom every day, her friend's cell phone
seems to be the only thing working where she is. They've been bring the
residents in that area water and ice. Mom's really upset with the house and
things being the mess that it is. I'm flying down in the morning (Tuesday) to
see what I can do. I can get into Fort Meyers but I still haven't been able to
get a car so I can get to Port Charlotte. The phones are still down. I have a
car service that I usually use down there but can't get a line through to them
to pick me up.
I may just be thumbing my way to Port Charlotte. So if any of you happen
to be in Fla. and see some middle aged looking guy with an olive colored
backpack on, lugging a carryon size piece of luggage behind him, thumbing his
way down the road, that may be me, and if you're heading for Port Charlotte,
I'll be willing to fill your tank with gas (if there are any pumps working
down there) for a lift :)
Hope everyone's doing well, I should be back in about a week or so.
