A lot of modern nail varnishes are no longer use acetone as the 'thinner', and seem to use water. I usually thin my nail varnish with acetone (careful it dissolves alot of things if you spill it..) but I try to get hopld of the cheaper varnish which seems to be based soley on acetone.
Water based nail varnishes go cloudy when you thin them..
