Hi Gang,

On the 21st of this month, I will travel to Philmont Scout Ranch, where I'll meet up with a bunch of my fly fishing buddies for 4 days of trout hunting on the Rayado and Cimarron Rivers.  This is the 11th year we've done this.  We'll be staying in a back country cabin and our meals will be prepared over open fire, as will our coffee.  Something about food cooked over a campfire that just makes it taste better.  We usually keep a few trout for a fish fry on Saturday night.

My torn up knee is much better.  My doc prescribed a new pain killer for my knee (torn miniscus) and it's working wonders.  It's a COX-2 inhibitor - Bextra, to get me through the fishing outing.  Still don't know about surgery when I return.  Appt. for MRI read next Tue.  These Bextras are absolutely great and I don't have to take them all the time either.  They have the added benefit of making every ache and pain in my body go away in addition to the effect on my knee.  Also, they don't make me drowsy like those Hydrocodone I was on for the knee. earlier.

Another difference I notice is when I get out of bed each morning. I feel 18 again. A bud of mine who takes them said the only  down side is that when you quit taking them you fell like someone beat the tar out of you for a day or two, but I won't have that problem.  With all the aches and pains I have with feet and hands,  I'll just quit taking my two Advils each morning and take the one Bextra a day instead.

We'll be fishing for rainbows and browns on the Rayado, with an occassional cutt.  On the Cimarron, it's gonna be mostly browns.

Cheers, and if you detect that I'm feeling great, you got it right!

JIMMY D

P.S. I'll have my digital camera with me and will take some photos which I'll post on my website.
