I understand Deb.
When I was in the Coast Guard stationed out of Portsmouth VA. we would
often be on station for races. They had Oyster Boat races along with Dory
and racing Dingy boats several times a year. It was during one of the oyster
boat races I got to see my first deep sea fly rod. Chief Felson had special
ordered one and it arrived a day or two before we were due on station for
the race. He was practicing with it off the fantail with this huge fly. Even
though he was only getting the feel of the rod he managed to hook a fish. He
played it for almost an hour and a half. Then we got a call that a boat had
capsized and we had to leave station. He had to brake if off because the
ship, ( USCGC Tampa, a 270' Cutter), was now on a SAR call. Never forget
that, or the many great boats I got to experience during that time.

I went to Newport tonight for dinner. We went to a place call Castle Hill
next to Castle Hill Light. The water was full of white caps and they had
the yacht show this weekend. It was pretty nice to just sit and watch the
large boats. I wouldn't want to be a small craft out there tonight though.
I told my husband and the waiter I was window shopping as all the large
boats passed us by. <vbg> If I can't troll off the back of it I don't want
it! :0) Of course when the Queen Mary passed us by I thought I would've
liked to be on that dinner cruise. It was raining hard all day but by
night it was just very windy. I hope tomorrow is nice. I would like to go
back for a closer look at the yacht show without the heavy rain slickers.
Regards,
Deb

Been a busy week here, still working on stuff between naps. Wind has been
blowing to much to fish. "BUT", I do plan on trying to get out at least for
a test trip this week. Been concerned about our friends on the east coast
with all the rain and damage there.
