Subject: [VFB] QUOTE FOR THE DAY
Hi Gang.
I leave for New Mexico early Tuesday for my
annual week-long trout fishing trip at Philmont Scout Ranch. List member
and owner of Conranch Hackles, Denny Conrad will be with me this year.
Denny and I will have "fishing reports" and other "tales" to tell when
we return. I'll be home late Sunday night, Sept. 26, so I won't be
doing the QFTD from Tuesday through Sunday. Maybe Rick Zieger or Allan Fish
can fill in for me while I'm gone.
Have a Great Day!
JIMMY

P.S. I undergo the knife (arthroscopic surgery) to repair
lateral miniscus on my left knee when I return from Philmont. Just
another little bump in the road for JIMMY D
Today's quote
rovided by Nick Runarsson from Scottish Fly Tying
magazine.
"Immediately you become aware of a fish, drop the point
of the rod, let go of any loose line in your hand, pull off more line
from the reel, step forward - do in short everything that will help create a
big belly in the line well downstream of the fish. When all this is done you
may now strike or not as the fancy pleases you. It will make no difference,
for by now the fish is hooked!"
(Richard Waddington, Fly Fishing for Salmon,
1951)
