Wolly Buggers, Muddler Minnorws, (imho a streamer is THE MOST dependable 
fly) Usualls, Caddis (any good one), PTNymphs, and Wulff's. Maybe i'm wrong 
but i take you to mean patterns........not nessessarily individual flies. 
Who would go to a river to fly fish with just 6 flies??????? 
Right..........lol. I have 14/15 boxes in my vest at all times, and plenty 
more in the truck. Old scout tactic........be prepared. So both my vest 
patches are covered also, as are both sun visors in the truck. I even have a 
hat with a huge patch on the front. It's called a head vest....has four 
pockets all around. It's loaded too, but i don't wear it much, because all 
the flies in the patch were gifts, so it just hangs in my tying room. I 
might ware it to a show where i'm tying occassionally, just for the fun of 
it. The dry flies i mentioned are just my favorites, and i "Believe" in 
them. If, i had to pick a single fly to use, it would be a Caddis of some 
kind. Not sure exactly what tye though...cause there's just so many good 
one. mark....

3 CDC & Elk (Hans Weilenman)
4 Als Rat
5 Killer Bug (Sawyer)
6 PTN. (Any of the million variants)
