Patrick, that's funny. If truth be told that's the way i fish half the time. 
I've got so far from trying to match the hatch most of the time. Trout 
fishing that is....which is most of what i do. I usually just start first by 
looking in my two patches on my vest. If i don't see anything that strikes 
my fancy there, i go to the boxes. Or i go to the visors in the truck. If 
and when it's extremely obvious what they're taking i'll prolly give a match 
the hatch deal a shot. But, half the time i just tye on a streamer, a 
caddis, or whatever........mark
