Cool story Nick. I "know" the feelin'. I'm often kinda grumpy when i wake up...at least if i haven't been able to get the amount of sleep i wanted. But some swap flies in the mail would cure that in no time flat, LOL. Funny thing is, i hardly ever seem to fish with swap flies. Every now and again i do, but usually they just go in the gallery, or the truck somewhere. I have this one bag in the truck with a dozen or so fly boxes in it.......and i hardly ever even open those boxes. Except to put more flies in of course, lol. One shelf in the gallery has maybe 25 fly boxes on it, full of allllllllll kinds of flies from swaps, "collections" (nothing but Green Drakes and Coffin Flies for instance), that i've just collected from all over the place, and flies my wife brings home from other countries (usually given to her by the other countires teamates), where she attends the Championships. I remember just back 6/7 years ago before i "really" started to collect flies.......and i never thought i would get sooooo into it. Well.........enjoy your flies.

I fell asleep around 5:30 this morning. Sometimes it's just impossible. I twist and turn for hours and when I finally do it, it's not because I'm tired but because I'm totally exhausted. This is another of those evil genetic defects that my mom passed on.
Teresa woke me up with a little kiss at around 11:00...

  -"Mmmhhghnnnn..."
  -"You've got a package today."
  -"Hggnnwwwfff..."
-"It feels like the fly-box you sent with your flies."
  -"HUH!!!!!"

... and in a split of a second, I turned from a state of half coma to clear awake. It was like switching on a light bulb.

I must say I wasn't that surprised. When looking at my fly with these "new" eyes, I didn't think it look that bad... and the fact that I've stripped down at least 25, looking exactly the same, made me feel quite stupid. This is going to be one of those things I will take with me and look back at with a laugh. But looking at the others, I also saw who the true experts were. AMAZING flies everyone. These are going straight up on the shelf in the livingroom.

OK, so I said that I thought the swap, at the time, was a true nightmare.
Having said that, I'm now obligated to add that: IT WAS WORTH BOTH THAT AND MORE!!!

/Nick
