Thanks to all - exactly what I was looking for.

As for using a pink hackle (I have some) which hackle replaced it?

Mike/Larry,

This pattern is an Irish one. It represents what those of you in america call the Green Drake (Ephemera Dancia). The pattern goes as follows............

Hook: Size 8 or 10.
Tying Silk: Brown.
Rib: Fine Oval Gold tinsel.
Tail: 3-4 fibres of cock phesant tail.
Body: Hares ear and yellow seals fur mixed in equal parts.
Hackle: At shoulder only and tied in half circle shape (fan shape) a med olive cock hackle, a blue dun cock hackle with a lemon-yellow cock hackle wound through.

An excellent pattern for river and lake. The original pattern had a pink hackle that was very difficult to dye.

Cant scan a pic Im afraid. The scanner has packed up and I dont have one tied up to take a pic of.

Hope that will do you,

Slán,

Ronan.
