TUBE FLIES:
There has been an interest expressed by some of you that want to learn how
to tie tube flies. Angelo asked me to put together a demonstration for the
January UFT club meeting. If you would like to tie along with me I will
supply the materials but you will need a tube fly tying vise or a tube fly
kit that can be used with regular vise jaws. This kit can be purchased
through the Fin & Feather Lodge or The Bears Den and online. There are
ways to rig your vise to hold a tube fly by using a thin nail or a long
shank hook with the eye removed and a cork to hold the tube on.
I wanted to give you a heads up so you could participate if you would like
to tie a fly. Tubes can be a lot of fun they're very common in Europe and
Canada for Salmon. I will be tying them for Saltwater where the
possibilities are endless!!!
Cheers,
Deb
