Yeah, I've seen too many situations where fly selection led to success in the
midst of no action or repeated refusals.
It's kind of funny though that this particular fly is at the center of the
discussion, since it looks like nothing more than a slug of yarn. These
"killer bugs" could be reliably tied by blind people.
No doubt, at some times it qualifies as the "right bug" for the circumstances,
but it ain't far removed from the cigarette butt on a hook, either.
I wonder if it's supposed to represent a tipula?
