Jimi,
A good way to test yourself if there is a "hernia", is to palpate the lower
abdomen area and if you feel any masses and if there is a lot of pain in
doing so, there's a good chance you have a hernia... So far with what
you've said, I would say, yes you have a hernia, but I'm not supposed to
diagnose... lol.... There's not a whole lot you can do about fractured
ribs... We don't even wrap the chest anymore due to the high possibility
for pneumonia that that can cause, due to the water vapor that is not able
to be released from the lungs... When I rolled my truck, two years ago, I
fractured 4 ribs, tore 8 from the spinal column, compression fractured T-12
and compressed the disk at L-5... Hurt like the dickens, (to put it
mildly), but there was nothing they could do for the fractured and torn
ribs... I did have surgery for the T-12 compression fracture, called a
"Kyphex Bone Tamp"... Worked wonders... The only advise I can give you is
to stay immobile... Stay in bed for a few days, and DON'T DO ANY LIFTING
WHAT-SO-EVER... Heat pads will help some with the discomfort, but STAY
PUT... Don't do any work WHAT-SO-EVER... It's going to take 4 to 6 weeks
before you're going to be able to do anything...

Rodney...
