Thanks Don O,
That would take care of the dial up long time possible download at 12
kps. Plus, I can look at it on Amanda's computer, better graphics, go
figure... Address follows,

Rene,
Since Jimi has a cd drive, I can just copy all the swap files to a disc and
mail it to him cheap.
I think that would be easier and save a lot of time over splitting and
re-sending files. He could then forward it to another mess swapper if they
can't read it.

Jimi, send address.

  Nick,
That is correct. I tried it as well, got the same results.
The reason is that 95% of the PDF are jpeg-files, and they are compressed
already. And compressing an compressed file gives no further results.
Otherwise, the first compress wasn't good.

You're right Don. Pictures, music etc. are hard to compress due to the
density of information in the file. I tried just now to see what it would do
to a *pdf file. The first mess file (3.75Mb) was zipped down to (3.72Mb).
The one we got the other day (533Kb) was zipped down to 482Kb. Smaller...
but not that radical.

There are some file types where WinZip does a very good job... but there are
also file types where it doesn't make much difference at all.

Jimi,

I'll try to send you one zipped.

Was wondering, would it be possible to zip the last mess swap photos
with win-zip so I could receive them? 3 meg was way to much for my
dial up and server, they had to delete the message because it was
clogging up the
    system
and I could never get it. Others had the same problem, like Deb I
think. Thanks, Jimi
