Byard makes a valid point. This site is due to the time and energy he has
offered in making this forum available. I think that many, especially newbies
to this site, do not understand the origins and what finances this site. Every
now and then, we get a reminder from Jimmy or Murf that VFB dues would be
appreciated and there tends to be an influx of dues contributions at those
times. Byard does not make an overt display of commercialism upon this site but
allows it to flow on it's own accord.
Perhaps it would be best if we were to refrain from directing the purchase of
fly tying supplies to his competitors and allow Byard the opportunity to
redirect to other sources if he chooses.
Another option that might be considered by Byard, is to post a weekly
announcement of fly tying supplies from Land's End as the exclusive solicitor
of fly tying supplies on VFB. This would certainly keep Line's End in the minds
of all us who frequent this forum.
