We had BEAutiful weather for my wife's club (WFFJ) outting to the Connetquot
yesterday. Bout 20 people showed up and they all caught fish. I had bout 30
brookies, 4 bows, and 2 browns. The browns were the biggest two fish of
course, bout 19 and 22 inches. One of the bows was pretty good too. Even
though we were there by 7:00 a.m. i had to help get these kids started out,
and give a casting lesson or two so i got started a bit late.....bout 9:30.
We had a great lunch all together round noontime and then Floyd Frankie
(member) gave a casting clinic, and helped those who needed it with their
casting. He's the head instructor at the Joan Wulff school. Well...after
Joan, lol. Joan is also a member but she didn't make it. My wife was so busy
taking pics all day, and helping the kids and Floyd, that she only managed
to land about a half dozen fish. But she didn't mind at all. My best flies
of the day were a Prince Nymph and a Usual. Small streamers also worded
well, like a size 8. Got a few with a caddis emerger also. Can't wait to get
back again. This was our 12th year in a row going there and i still love it.
The Connetquot is just the most lovely place (spring creek that dumps into
the Atlantic) and you always catch fish, lots of fish, lol. Ray, sorry i
forgot to call you. Next year you should join us. mark...
