I agree with DonO,

I have always used the cheap $4 and $5 clear plastic fly boxes that are
divided into 9 or 12 compartments. I have dropped them into the water
hundreds of times and they have always floated for a time, the water gets
into them very slowly so it takes a few minutes for them to fill up. I then
pick them up, turn them on edge and let whatever water got into them flow
back out and put the box right back into the vest-I have not had any
problems with mildew or rust in these dunked flies and I spend very little
money on boxes-more money for gobs of fly tying stuff to clutter up the
basement.
