Great quote, Jimmy...

Almost a philosophical debate on this board :)

7am at Bear Canyon Lake this summer, as the trail from the parking lot hit the
water, right there... no extra effort applied.. sits a fisherman with his
cooler, lawn chair, and 6 trout(so far) on a "Gold Cast Master" (or something
like that) ...

So as I hike along another half mile to my favorite (isolated) spot, I'm
thinking... "geez... I haven't caught a thing yet, and this is my 4th day, if I
had a 'Gold Cast Master', maybe I could catch some fish too". Then that morning
I took back 2, and one was not a stocker... and both on flies I tied :) The
next day was 3!

The fun of catching a single fish on 4-lb test with a fly you tied less than 12
hours ago beats six fish on a Gold Cast Master any day in my book!

And yes, when my father introduced me to fishing it was worms and minnows and
crawdads... but that was a different kind of fishing, as we all know...

As the first real fly-fisherman I ever met told me... "I suppose I could catch
fish with bait, but why would I want to?"
