Otherwise, how long should the lip be? I'm really only going by one web site, pics in catalogs, and memory of the one time I saw it in a store.

I would have tied the wiggle bug, 'cept you already had it. Its killer on the spotted and guadalupe bass in fast water down here. About half my hits come when I've cast across and down some fast water, and forget about the fly to watch an egret or something. And WHAM!! Just letting it stay in one place and 'wiggle'.
What problems are you having? ANything I can help you with? (Hint on materials - go to the craft store and look in the children's foam area for 3mm foam for the normal sizes and door hangers, great for the larger sizes.) The one thing is to be careful to get the hook eye centered on the foam as best as possible to keep the fly from spinning. And not too much lip.
And I've seen pictures of Larry Tullis' shrimp versions. Anybody have any insight into his dressings for that look?

I think i'm in that swap just about everyday... i always try to challenge myself at least once a week... and for the foam swap I'm tying something new to me.. the Wiggle bug. I've never tied one or even fished with one, but i'm going to do what I can... I told Rob that if i can't get them to look right before too long, I'm going to switch my pattern to a foam hopper... either way, I'll be chalenging myself because I've never had any formal lessons so everything I know has been learned from lists like this and other books and sites... Thanks guys (and gals) for all your help.
