Just a question for the group, now that mark brings it up: I'm in the local chapter of TU and work with the local DEP to improve streams and rivers damaged from strip-mining... but what should one do for places "far off"? An example is I live near Philadelphia (generally) but wish to help other areas also - especially as the Philadelphia area is not as keen on "environment" over "industry". What can be done by someone in my geographic locale to help far- off places (ie North Carolina's mountains, just as an example)? Also, what can be done when you're fighting a loosing battle with the local majority?
