The Green is very shallow you can wade across it in many spots. I have left my pontoon kick boat at home the last two trips; it seemed pointless since there are fish everywhere that are available to waders. i did see a lot of boats go drifting by (a month ago).

The fly selection on the Green is always a mystery, most of the time small flies are the ticket, especially in the winter; but then you hear reports like Joyce's where the fish were slamming big flies. Take along both.

I had good success casting to feeding fish in the shallow runs using either a size 20 or 22 red disco midge or a similar sized micro- scud dropped off of a larger fly. The micro-scud is nothing more than very small midge tubing wrapped on a tiny scud hook.

If you decide to go, send an email and maybe we can hook up.

I just found out that I have a few days off in mid

any info on it?
I figure that if it's not worth the cold and low water
I'll hit the Colorado or the San Juan. Either way...
